FAQs
When are applications due?
Applications must be received or postmarked by March 31, 2026. Instructions for submission are included in the application packet.
Where do I get the application?

How are applications judged and scored?
A panel of 3-5 judges will score each application with a rubric. The applicant's name will be kept secret from the judges, so each application will be scored anonymously.
How will the recipient be notified?
The scholarship recipient will receive an email from The Sassy Brahman informing them of their award. If the recipient wishes, the scholarship can be awarded to them at their FFA or 4-H awards banquet or equivalent.
Who can apply?
High school juniors and seniors are eligible to apply for the Legends in the Making scholarship. Applicants must be a member of Van Zandt 4-H, the Metch Leadership Program, or an active member of a Van Zandt County FFA Chapter.
When do applications open?
Applications will open on January 1, 2026.
